Signing Up for a Meal Plan

What kind of food is served with the meal plan?

We offer a salad , daily soup, hot entrées, dessert, and assorted beverages.  For more details, see our semester menu

Do I need to live on campus to participate in the meal plan?

No, you don't need to live on campus. However "Off-Campus" residents have different pricing model.  You simply need to be a Columbia University Irving Medical Center student. Both part- and full-time students can sign up for the meal plan.

When does the dinner menu become available?

The menu will be available at the beginning of each week

What types of diets do you cover in the student meal plan?

We cover a range of diets: vegetarian, vegan, celiac/gluten-free, and kosher. Email facultyclub@columbia.edu if you have questions.

I have a food allergy. How can I stay safe while enjoying the meal plan?

Depending on your allergy, we can prepare you an individual plate to prevent cross-contamination. Please indicate your allergy on your enrollment form. Email facultyclub@columbia.edu with additional questions.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept credit card. When you enroll, via the Housing Services Portal For other payhment options email facultyclub@columbia.edu 

How to Use Your Meal Plan

How do I redeem my meals?

During meal plan hours, bring your CUIMC ID to 50 Haven ave Ballroom. A representative from our team will check you in. If someone is coming in your place to redeem your meals, you must give us 24-hours advance notice by emailing facultyclub@columbia.edu with that person's name.

Do I have to come on a specific day if I select "custom plan"?

You can use your allotted meals on any day the meal plan is served.

What are the guidelines for meal plan?

To allow us to plan ahead and ensure that everyone has access to dinner, we ask you to abide by certain guidelines. Once your CUIMC ID is checked, we allow only one trip through the station.  Each meal plan participant is entitled to the following portions:

  • One salad container
  • One hot entrées
  • One bowl of soup
  • One dessert
  • One piece of whole fruit
  • One bottled beverage.

 

If I didn't come for all my meals this week, can I roll them over to next semester?

Unfortunately, we don't allow students to roll over meals. However, you are welcome to invite friends to dinner to help you use up your meals. Email us at facultyclub@columbia.edu to let us know who will be using your meals.

Can I bring a guest to dinner?

Yes. If you plan to bring a guest, email us at facultyclub@columbia.edu at least 24 hours in advance. Your allotted meals will be used to cover your guest.
